Buying Guides

Start here if you are trying to decide what to buy. The cannabinoid pages explain what each compound is; these guides explain how to evaluate a product before you pay for it. Every guide follows the same principle: a label is a claim, a batch certificate of analysis is evidence, and the milligram figure is the only number that describes your actual dose.

The guides

Guide Use it when
Delta-8 You want delta-8 and need to check the conversion process, solvent panel and milligram dose
CBD You are comparing isolate, broad and full spectrum, or working out price per milligram
Delta-9 You are choosing between a licensed cannabis retailer and a hemp-derived seller
THCA You are looking at high-THCA flower or concentrates and need to calculate total THC, not just read the THCA percentage
HHC You are looking at a hydrogenated cannabinoid and want to check the starting material and residues
THCO You are considering an acetylated cannabinoid with no human safety data — read this first
THCP You are paying a premium for THCP and want to know whether the milligram figure supports it
THCV You want a dose-dependent cannabinoid and need to avoid a delta-8 blend sold under a THCV name
CBG You are comparing CBG products, where the label frequently overstates the active content
Delta-10 You want to know how much delta-10 is really in a product versus delta-8

Two guides that apply to everything

The five checks that apply to every purchase

  1. Does the COA match your batch? A report without a batch number is a marketing document. See how to read one.
  2. What is the milligram dose per unit? Not per bottle, not per package. Divide.
  3. What is the total THC per container? After December 11, 2026 the federal cap is 0.4 mg total THC per container. See the 2026 law.
  4. Does the solvent panel pass? Essential for any converted or synthesized cannabinoid — delta-8, delta-10, HHC, THCO, THCP, THCV.
  5. Is it legal where you are? Federal status and state status are separate, and a state can be stricter. See hemp laws by state.

If you are new to cannabinoids

Read cannabinoids explained first. It covers which compounds are intoxicating, which are not, and how they differ — the question that determines everything else. Then check the dosage guides before buying:
